present influx of war material to areas where ed instructors
(whose masters presumably desire international conflicts) ars
producing troops of some fighting valus is to my mind, one of the principal sources of danger.
15. On receipt of Admiralty telegram No. 612 of 28th August, 1925, I wired to E.K.Ambassador, Tokio, that the deferred
visit would take place. “Hawking" will therefore leave here on
9th instant, and it is proposed to remain at Yokohama from the 15th
to the 18th.

Possibly local cases of Cholera at Yokohama may affect this.
Apart from South China the situation has been quiet. Swator, Amoy and Ningpo remain the same, the state of the former generally reflecting conditions at Canton.

sports from the Rear-Admiral, Yangtse, dealing with that area are attached. The state of emergency at Shanghai being suspended and landing parties withdraw on the 29th August, "Magnolia" has been sent to Weihaiwi and "Hollyhock" is now on her way to Hankow to relieve "Despatch" who will also proceed to Weihaimi for a much needed change of air.

I must observe, however, that the boycott has not bean rescinded and the causes of unrest, though they have not led to any recent outbreaks in the Yangtse and further north, have not been eradicated and the outlook appears to me very uncertain.
Oivil war in various districts still appears likely.
